GO BACK TO MOVE FORWARD
A wise person once told me the you have to look forward in life because “the front windshield is bigger than the rearview mirror.” Sometimes though, before a new trip, we have to take an inventory first in order to be PROPELLED forward into our new journey/season. Picture a bow & arrow or toy car you pull back and let go!
PULL OVER AND TAKE A 7-POINT INSPECTION:
- Never been to ”this destination” before? It’s ok! Remember all the places HE has gotten you to before? What has he done for you? He never changes & he will do it again.
- Do you trust your GPS more than the Holy Spirit? You don’t have to know each turn. Just like your GPS does, trust he will let you know when and where to turn.
- Is your “maintenance” light on? Do you need to fill up, an oil change, air in your tires or a new battery? Your car can’t get anywhere without regular maintenance and neither can you!
- Is your trunk full? Will there be room for your luggage? What has been weighing you down that you can let go of? Remove the baggage from the last trip to make room for your new luggage.
- Will you obey the traffic signs this time? If you got tickets or towed last time and it cost you, will you keep running the red lights or how can you avoid making the same mistakes? What did you learn on the last trip that you can do differently this time?
- The scratches and dents that you have been avoiding, is it time to address them? Old wounds need attention to air out and breathe so they can be released.
- It’s ok to ask for directions or have a co-pilot. Sometimes the trip is a little longer or there are bad weather conditions and we need someone to help find the way. Perhaps they have even traveled there before!
SAY THIS WITH ME:
Thank you Father for being my pilot and bringing me the right co-pilots for this next destination. While I put it in park, I ask that you reveal any areas that need attention in order to move forward into my new season without any delays. Remove and replace anything or anyone in my life that’s not a part of your plan. If there is anything from my past that needs to be unlocked and released so I can move forward, I trust that you will show me. In Jesus name, Amen.
